What A Wonderful World

After having a disappointing weekend, going to work and having a bad Monday put me in the worst mood. But songs like this can be healing, especially when a cute animation goes along with it.

Jukebox The Ghost - Hold It In

I'm going to Blackcat on Saturday for the first time to see this DC-based band. Going to be a fun show!

The Strokes - Under Cover of Darkness

We've got the right to live, fight to use it
Got everything and you can just choose it
I won't just be a puppet on a string

Bruno Mars - Count On Me

This weekend, I was supposed to get together with my freshman dorm hallmates. Unfortunately my car did not cooperate, so I had to be towed 2 hours home and missed out on the reunion. I was really looking forward to seeing my girlfriends because they are some of the most amazing people I know. So when I broke the news to them, they were not only understanding, but were even willing to pick me up (2 hours out of their way). So when I think of them, I think of this song.

Groover Cleveland

My friend Mike is a DJ in Chicago and has made some awesome mixtapes. Check him out!

The Black Keys - Tighten Up

The latest album I bought was the Brothers album from The Black Keys, and all of it is good. Their music just sounds really sexy, I don't know how to describe it.

The Cataracs - Top of the World (feat. Dev)

You've heard the Cataracs and Dev on "Fly Like a G6", so they are definitely a party favorite of mine. Since it's Friday, it's time to get into the weekend mode. BTW this video might be slightly NSFW.

Thompson Square - Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not

I was never a country music fan until about two summers ago. I was introduced to the wonderful world of country concert tailgating and I was hooked. I'm still not 100% invested; I still don't know a lot of artists, and there are only certain parts of the year when I actually feel like listening to it. I don't know what it is, but once the weather gets nice, nothing's better than being outside with a beer, blaring country music.

The cutest thing about Thompson square is that they are husband and wife. <3

Florence + The Machine - Cosmic Love (Acoustic)

I saw a tv spot for Water For Elephants and it played Cosmic Love. It reminded me of my favorite acoustic version of this song. Amazingggggg.

Fitz & The Tantrums - MoneyGrabber

I have to admit that I follow Perez Hilton's blog pretty regularly, and I have surprisingly found a lot of great music from his site, one of them being Fitz & The Tantrums. They have come out of nowhere recently, performing on major talk shows and taking part in this year's SXSW.

Cold War Kids - Louder Than Ever

Saw these guys perform the other night on Letterman. Pretty great.

Incubus - Adolescents

I'm a huge Incubus fan and I finally got to see them live last summer. Hands down, the best concert I've ever been to and I can't wait to see them again at some point. This single was released at the beginning of the month, and I'm definitely not disappointed.

Leela James - Don't Speak (No Doubt cover)

I'm all about covers and remixes. It definitely gives you a new perspective on something so familiar. Digging the soulful twist.

Here's the link because it won't let me embed it: http://youtu.be/PkjzMtHnPVk

Foster The People - Pumped Up Kicks

I always feel torn on liking songs that sound great but are actually really sad.

Anddddddddddd it's back

Hi friends! A couple years ago I started a blog that followed my musical tastes but I ended up neglecting it a lot so I shut it down. I'm going to give it another go, but this time I will be doing shorter posts (I think that was the problem keeping up with it last time). Some posts will just be a music video, or some lyrics that relate to my current mood. Whatever I'm feeling like, pretty much.

Basically, I'll introduce the music that I'm listening to at the moment. I love all genres, and my collection is all over the place. You don't have to like or love anything I post - I'm just putting it out there. If you like it, take it. If you don't, throw it right back. :)

I hope this blog opens up your ears to some new sounds. Enjoy!

Also, I don't own anything here. YouTube is my bff.
